This policy describes how Suite Blue River Accommodation Ltd and its affiliates ("we", "us", or "SBR") collect, use, and share personal information.

1. DEFINITIONS

Undefined terms in this Privacy Policy have the same definition as in our Terms of Use ("Terms").

2. PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

     2.1 Information needed to use the SBR booking platform.

     

     We collect personal information about you when you use the SBR platform.  Without it, we may not be able to provide you with all services requested.  This information includes contact information, payment information, reservation information, and accommodation preferences.  This information is collected directly from you when you make a room reservation.  

 

     2.2 Information you choose to give to us.

     You can choose to provide us with additional personal information, such as your gender or your preferred language(s).   

     In some cases, we may collect information about your health.  For example, a guest may voluntarily choose to provide information about a disability as part of a request for an accommodation preference.

     2.3 Information automatically collected by using the SBR platform and our payment services.

     We use cookies to automatically collect information that a website sends to a computer's hard drive while a website is viewed (first party tracking).  We also use third party tracking, where that party may use technology (ie: a cookie), to collect information about your use of our website so that it can provide advertising about products and services tailored to your interests on our website or on other websites (ie: Google).

     If you contact us, we will collect your name and email address, as well as any other content that you send to us in order to reply.

     In addition to the information that we collect from you directly, we may also receive information about your from other sources, including Airbnb, Facebook or publicly available sources.

3. HOW WE USE THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT

     3.1 Provide, improve and develop the SBR platform.

 

     We use the ​personal information to conduct analytics, identify when you visit our website, enable you to make payments, provide services, respond to inquiries, to send marketing and promotional materials, and for the safety and security of guests and staff.

     We have no control over the privacy practices of websites or applications that we do not own.  Our website or communications may also contain plug-ins and other features that integrate third party social media platforms.  If you interact with these, the third parties who operate these platforms may be able to identify you, determine how you use our website, and link and store this information with your social media profile.

     3.2 Create and maintain a trusted and safer environment.

     We use personal information to comply with our legal obligations, protect the health and wellbeing of our guests, employees and members of the public, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements with third parties and enforce our terms and other policies.

     3.3 Provide payment services.

     We may use your personal information to enable or authorize third parties to use payment services.  They payment provider requires certain financial information, such as your bank account or credit card information in order to process payments.

4. SHARING AND DISCLOSURE

     4.1 Sharing your information with service providers.

     We share your information with service providers who help to administer our databases, websites, marketing, communications, and surveys. They provide us with technical and logistical support, process payments on our behalf, and assist in the fulfillment of reservations and orders.

     4.2 Complying with the law, responding to legal requests, preventing harm and protecting our rights.

     We may disclose your information to courts, law enforcement, government or public authorities, tax authorities, or authorized third parties in order to exercise our rights, to defend against legal claims, to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding possible illegal activities, suspected fraud, safety of a person or property, or a violation of our policies.

     4.3 Business transfers or sale.

     If another company merges, acquires or plans to acquire all or part of our company, business, or our assets, we will share information with that company, including at the negotiation stage.

5. HOW WE PROTECT PERSONAL INFORMATION

     5.1 Managing your information.

     While no method of transmission over the Internet or of electronic storage is fully secure, we make every reasonable effort to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure, but cannot guarantee the security of your personal information.  In the event that we are required by law to inform you of any breach to your personal information, we may notify you electronically, in writing or by telephone, if permitted by law to do so.

     5.2 How long we retain your information.

     We keep your information secure for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, typically three to five years,  unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

6. OTHER INFORMATION

     6.1 Changes to this privacy policy.

     We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time in accordance with applicable law.  If we do so, we will post the revised policy and update the "Last Updated" date at the top.  If you do not agree with the revisions, you may cancel your reservation with us.  If you do not cancel, your continued use of our platform will be subject to the revised Privacy Policy.
